About Restaurant In Ranikhet

Originally built in 1909 as a quaint hunting lodge in the midst of a forest rich in wild life, Restaurant In Ranikhet soon transformed itself into a favourite retreat of the British elite and Indian royalty during the colonial era. Sadly, a devastating fire in 1948 damaged the property extensively. Restaurant In Ranikhet and its out houses remained neglected ruins for the following 50 years. It was not until 1999 that painstaking restoration work began, retaining much of the original colonial-style architecture, retrieved timber and wood work and roughly hewed stones, Decorated with period furniture and artefacts, the refurbishment restored its vibrant antiquity and glory of days gone by. Restaurant In Ranikhet re-opened its doors 6 years later; and ever since, several new buildings added to what is today a fusion of colonial splendor and modernity. Perched on hillock, it commands a 360- degree view, overlooking the golf course, pine and cedar forests a stunning panorama of snow- capped Himalayan peaks.

Accommodation

There are a number of rooms and suites including the luxurious Windsor and Robinson suites and Trishul suite, all with breath- taking views of Himalayan ranges. Also on offer is the Penthouse Suite with windows all around and a variety of deluxe suites, superior deluxe rooms and deluxe rooms. For long-stay guests or those preferring to experience village life, we offer Rose Cottage, an independent house comprising of four one – bedroom serviced apartments with access to all hotel facilities.

The Kumaon Room, with its unique forecourt Conservatory, is a multi-cuisine fine dining restaurant offering Tandoori, Indian and Continental delicacies. The Raja of Sheikhupura lounge, named so in honour of the erstwhile Raja of Sheikhupura, a regular at Restaurant In Ranikhet in the pre-partition era, is a perfect place to relax and enjoy your favourite beverages accompanied with a wide selection of delectable snacks. One can dine al-fresco at Kafal Bagh, overlooking verdant valleys and pine forest or enjoy snacks and beverages at The Tea Lounge in the main lobby.
